Pharmacy Staffing Agency and Firm US Mid Atlantic States

Pharmacy Staffing ServicesHealthcare Consultants Pharmacy Staffing (HCC) has been recognized as a leader throughout the US Mid-Atlantic states over the past three decades in regards to pharmacy staffing, recruitment and placement services, known as a "full service" pharmacy staffing company since opening in 1989. With more than thirty-three+ years in pharmacy staffing, HCC is acknowledged nationally for our ability to correctly match the best potential job candidates to the right jobs or employment opportunities, plus meet the exact needs of the potential employer/business owner! We accomplish this by utilizing our own proprietary in-house candidate database system that we've developed over these past three decades, and that no other company in the staffing industry has access to or can match. This system, plus our talented and experienced in-house staff of experts, allows us to match a pharmacist's skill sets, experience and other considerations, such as geographical considerations and lifestyle, with whatever the employer requires.

What Comprises The US Mid-Atlantic States?

The Middle Atlantic states, or known more commonly when shortened to the Mid-Atlantic states, is the region of the United States located along the East Coast between the Northeastern and Southeastern States. This region of the US Northeast typically includes Delaware, the District of Columbia (Washington DC), Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. It's important to note that many people include the State of Connecticut in the Mid-Atlantic region, as its climate is closer to that of the other Mid-Atlantic states than to the rest of the states in New England. The Mid-Atlantic states have always played an important role in the development of American culture, commerce and industry throughout our nation's history. Settled primarily by European immigrants from England (both Catholics and Quakers), the Netherlands, and Scandinavian countries such as Sweden, the Middle Atlantic region has always been a relatively affluent region of the nation, having forty-three (43) of the top one-hundred (100) highest-income counties in the entire nation located within it.The American Mid-Atlantic Region is comprised by several of the largest cities and metropolitan areas in the entire country. The Top Ten largest cities in the Mid-Atlantic Region by population according to the United States Census Bureau's City 2020 Census are:1.) New York, NY 8,804,1902.) Philadelphia, PA 1,603,7973.) Washington, D.C. 689,5454.) Baltimore, MD 585,7085.) Virginia Beach, VA 459,4706.) Newark, NJ 311,5497.) Pittsburgh, PA 302,9718.) Jersey City, NJ 292,4499.) Buffalo, NY 278,34910.) Pharmacist and Technician Staffing Shortages in the US Mid-Atlantic States

Without question the US Mid Atlantic states became the initial "epicenter" for the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. While residents of other Middle Atlantic states such as Delaware, the District of Columbia (Washington DC), Maryland,  and Pennsylvania clearly suffered, few can forget the near pandemonium of the media coverage, along with the graphic illness and deaths that swept quickly through New Your City and Northern New Jersey! The remembrance of not being allowed to enter a pharmacy and then waiting outside for hours to get your prescriptions seems like the distant past to many of us.This is not so with many of the residents of these Eastern States who were initially hit the hardest by the pandemic, like New York and New Jersey. Everyone still remembers how inconvenient the shortages of necessary commodities such as toilet paper, paper towels and hand sanitizer were at the beginning of the pandemic, but a shortage of pharmacists and pharmacy techs is currently still having disastrous effects on these states' healthcare systems.Retail community pharmacists and their pharmacy co-workers have all been working long extended hours under unbelievable stressful conditions and, as everyone knows, pharmacists are the most accessible healthcare workers available to the general public. This led to what's been termed "Pharmacist Burnout", and also applies to the pharmacy technicians. Many could simply not deal with the change (or quickly got ill themselves), which resulted in so much stress that a significant number switched to hospital or clinical positions, or simply left the profession they were educated in and had practiced for their entire professional lives. According to the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA)’s 2021 economic health report this "exodus" from independent retail community pharmacies resulted in:• Over two-thirds (68%) of all independent community pharmacies nationwide reported having a difficult time filling open pharmacist positions.• A staggering 88% of independent pharmacies reported that pharmacy technicians are the most difficult positions to fill. These staffing shortages that had never before been seen in either NY and/or NJ have resulted in:1. Reduced operating hours of community pharmacies (keeping in mind that a Registered Pharmacist must be physically present for a pharmacy to be open to both fill and dispense prescription medications).2. Reduced revenue for the independent community pharmacies (with numerous patients leaving and opting for the convenience of mail-order prescription refills). The NCPA's survey also revealed that over 41% of all independent community pharmacy owners stated that the current overall financial health of their business is somewhat poor or very poor.3. Increased incentive pay to pharmacy staff that obviously also results in decreased profitability for the pharmacy owner(s). One must keep in mind that the rising costs cannot just be passed on to the patients because many of the reimbursements and fees are controlled by PBMs.4. Greatly increased prescription dispensing waiting times for patients.5. The turning away of patients seeking immunizations.
