HCC to Exhibit at The Florida Pharmacy Association 125th Annual Meeting
This year marks the 125th annual meeting and convention for the Florida Pharmacy Association. This year’s convention will take place at the Renaissance At World Golf Village located in St. Augustine from June 24th to the 28th. The FPA is known in Florida for being the premiere state organization that represents pharmacies and pharmacists in their tasks of providing quality healthcare. Their membership includes pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and others with an interest in the business and profession of pharmacy. Representation includes community pharmacy (both chain and independent), hospital, long term care, consulting, pharmacy owners, employee pharmacists, compounding, managed care, specialty, academia, government service, nuclear and clinical pharmacy practices.This year’s keynote speaker will be John H. Armstrong, MD, FACS, Surgeon General & Secretary, Surgeon Florida Department of the Florida Department of Health.In addition as part of the convention, the FPA is offering a total of 30 contact hours for continuing education purposes. A total of 23 contact hours for general continuing education (GCE) and 22 hours may be used for consultant re-certification (RC). Numerous scheduled topics include:- Resolving the Red Flags: Allowing Patients to Legally Obtain Their Lawfully Prescribed Medications- Medical Marijuana Update- Gluten Free: What Pharmacists Need to Know about Celiac Disease- Legislative and Regulatory Updates- Lawful Prescribing and Prevention of DiversionAs well as many others.In addition are scheduled several “fun events” that include the awards ceremony which is themed as "A Night of Mystery and Intrigue". Everyone is encouraged to dress as their favorite sleuth, villain or detective!
